The WOW Pop-ups at The Summit

In celebration of The Summit 1.0′s wind down, Chef Tim Luym’s WoW pan-Asian food trucks will be “popping up” for a limited 3 day engagement at 780 Valencia!
“Casa Poleng was the intended concept for what is now The Summit. The Mission is going through an Asian invasion. Wo-Hing General Store, Ken Ken Ramen, Thai House, Rice Broker, etc have all opened in the past 3 months, with Namu opening in the near future. I’m happy to help my ex-partner in crime stake his claim in the Mission. ” says Desi Danganan founder of The Summit and ex-Poleng Lounge partner.
LUNCH (Starting at 11am)
On Thursday, January 26th and Friday, January 27th, the WOW will feature fresh and healthy Vietnamese street foods including – the quintessential street eat and often overlooked “Bun” Noodle Bowls and Broken Rice Plates; Cup o’ Pho Ga (Chicken Pho Soup); and the first of its kind “WoW Made to Order Spring Roll Bar”. And of course, in homage to the Summit and the WoW founders’ shared lineage, the WoW Pop-Up will serve Poleng’s famous Long Life Garlic Noodles.
THE WoW FEEDS THE SUMMIT CLOSING PARTIES
On Friday night, during Welldone’s gallery closing event, The WoW will spotlight another Asian delicacy: the Nepalese Momo Dumpling! Often compared to the Shanghai Dumpling (xia long bao), the momo is a traditional delicacy native to Tibet, Nepal, and India. Come early and you may be able to get a limited tasting of our Buffalo Momo with the WoW special Momo Sauce — available in Yoga Fire (medium spicy) spicy, Yoga Flame (spicy) and Yoga Blast (extra spicy).
Finally on Saturday, during The Summit on Leave closing event, the WoW continues with the Southeast Asian flavors by popping up the WoW Silog Brunch. Silogs can be considered The Breakfast of Champions (using Manny Pacquiao as proof), that a silog a day makes you strong as ox. The brunch will feature the traditional Filipino breakfast silog plate, the Mexi-Pino fusion WoW Silog Taco, as well as the french inspired Eggs Benedictino (Pan de sal, spicy corned beef, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce) and Croque Manong (open faced pan de sal, muscovado bruleed spam, cheese, and a fried egg). For those craving for adobo, the return of the original Poleng Crispy Adobo Wings and the Manny Paksiw (pulled pork adobo with paksiw spices over WoW Garlic Fried Rice) is guaranteed to make you better, stronger, faster!
The Window on Wheels (WoW) is the brainchild of ex-Poleng Lounge mastermind, Tim Luym. The WoW Trucks, along with partners Ronnie Hernandez, Crystal Aranas, Marie Duong, and Thuan Le feature an assortment of asian street food from the Philippines, Nepal, and Vietnam with more to come. Catch The WoW Pop Up this Thursday January, 26, 2012 to Saturday January 28, 2012 at 780 Valencia. Food will be available starting at 11am…until food sells out.
